Richard D Griffin

Richard D. Griffin III of Reno, NV passed away in his sleep Thursday, September 11th, 2025 following a battle with declining health. His family is deeply saddened by his passing.

Rick enjoyed the great outdoors. He took his family camping, kayaking and exploring nature. He enjoyed road trips and motorcycle rides.

Rick took his faith seriously. He was an active member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Reno, serving as a trustee and lay preacher. He loved being Santa’s helper each December.

Rick retired this spring from the City of Sparks after a 30 year career as a maintenance worker. He was proud of the fact that he could operate most of the different types of machinery in the yard.

Rick is survived by his loving wife Alice (nee Eichhorn) of 26 years and his loving son Daniel. He is also dearly missed by his father Richard Jr. (Laura), sister Kim (Matt) Wood, nieces Alex, Camryn and Kay and his wife’s family; Gene (Phyllis), Kay and Gary Eichhorn. Rick was preceded in death by his mother Judi Shine.

Rick’s Celebration of Life will we held at 1 p.m., October 25th, 2025 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. 1660 Grandview Ave, Reno, NV 89503. Zoom link available at stpaulsumcreno.org.
