Randa Allen

Oct 25, 1954 — Oct 10, 2026

With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and wife, Randa Allen. She passed away peacefully on October 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She would have celebrated her 72nd birthday on October 25th. She was a woman of extraordinary kindness, strength and grace, she never met a stranger.

Randa moved from a small town in Iowa to Sparks, Nevada in 1965. She attended Dilworth Middle School and Sparks High School where she met the love of her life. Due to her love for family, she spent several years as a stay-at-home mom watching all of her nieces and nephews along with her two children. After all the children attended school, she decided it was time to start her own career. She was employed at Hidden Valley Ranch (Clorox Company) for over 30 years. After retiring from HVR, she was a dedicated great grandmother who watched her great grandchildren up until her passing.

In her lifetime, Randa was defined by her devotion to Family, Friends, and Fun. She loved spending time with her family; her house was always a place for laughter and love. She spent her free time in the garden, creating a new craft project, and planning her next trip to Disneyland. Randa’s joyful spirit was evident to all who knew her.

She never missed a call for help, always showing up weather, it was for her children, a family member in need, or a neighbor that needed her to watch over their house. Her presence was grounding and constant. Disneyland was her all-time favorite place to travel because it allowed her to be adventurous, playful, and deeply social.

Randa leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion and unforgettable charm. She was a devoted daughter, mother, sister, and wife of 52 years to James Allen. She is survived by her husband James Allen, her children Robert Allen and Miranda Brason, her sisters Kendell Minor and Becky Moore, her grandchildren Savannah Hopkins, Jocelynn Singelyn, Blake Allen, Kacey Brown, and Dezarae Branson, her great grandchildren Walker Hopkins, Willow Hopkins, Lucielle Singelyn, Annabell Singelyn, Riley Brown, and Jager Plumber. She is preceded in death by her parents, Norma and Garrett Scholten, her sister Pamela Knoblock, and brother Scott Scholten.

A graveside service will be held on October 23, 2026, at Mountain View Cemetery (435 Stoker Ave, Reno, NV 89503) at 2:30. Following will be a Celebration of Life at Bartley Ranch Historic Huffaker School (6000 Bartley Ranch Rd, Reno, NV 89511). Please feel free to wear your favorite Disney attire, no need to wear black come as you are. Her family is grateful for the kindness and support shown during this time.
