Obituary

He left us on December 3,2025 without a goodbye. Glen Edward Myers (aka. Tug, Tugboat, Mr. Boat) was born in Reno, NV on September 7, 1972 to Ronald E. and Carol L. Myers. As a fifth generation Nevadan he has great grandparents on both sides of the family laid to rest in the historic Hillside Cemetery (Marsh and Peckham). He was very close to his grandpa and grandma Marsh spending countless hours with them and his cousin Jamie at the fourth street homestead. His grandfather was instrumental in teaching him how to fix almost anything. He was the oldest of four siblings followed by sisters Becky, Christy and Stephanie.

He attended schools in Sparks and Reno, graduating from McQueen High in 1991. During his school years he played in Little League and Pop Warner. At McQueen he played trombone in both the marching and jazz bands. It was here he met Jim Grady who would become his brother-in-law.

His father took him on his first fishing trip when he was about 3 and he was hooked. He loved to fish. His family spent many summers at Packer Lake beginning when he was 5 and there he fished and fished and ultimately taught his son Nick and nephew Blake and friends how to hook the big ones. His enthusiasm was infectious.

Scouting was very important to him. He enjoyed the challenges and was over the moon when he got to go to Philmont in New Mexico and then to Fleishman in Chester. Some cold December evenings and weekends were spent selling Christmas trees at Moana Nursery with troop15.

He was young when he got his first job as a paper boy then in high school worked at Port of Subs. He then began work in Sterile Processing learning about this complex world of surgical trays, sterilization and JACHO. He then went to work for this uncle Charlie at Century Glass. He was very close to his uncle during this time and learned the craft of being a glazer. However, after shoulder injuries, he returned to Sterile Processing and became a supervisor. He would eventually help open a stand-alone surgical center as Facilities Coordinator. It was his dream job.

Twenty nine years ago, he met the love of his life Kerri Jo Schelle. They were married November 7, 1998. He was so excited when his son Nick was born in 2001. At home he relaxed in his recliner with his large dogs perched on his lap. He enjoyed hanging out in his yard among his large collection of BBQ’s. As a family they enjoyed vacations to Packer Lake and Montana to see Kerri’s family. His two most exciting trips were to WyoTech in Wyoming. The first being to take Nick there and the second to attend his graduation an bring home his class project – a shored up car. His BBQ’s featuring his tri-tips were epic.

He was always willing to help whether it was his grandparents, mother or a stranger with a flat tire. He always showed up with a smile and willingness. His garage was often full of vehicles he was fixing for a friend.

He is predeceased by his father Ronald Myers, stepfather Bob Munden and his grandparents Ray and Louise Marsh.

He is survived by his wife Kerri Myers; son Nick Myers (Camille); son Jacob Koster; mother Carol Munden; sisters Christy Grady (Jim), Becky James, and Stephanie Fickert (Carolynn); Granddaughter Lilly Koster and coming soon Amelia Myers. One niece Sydney and nephews AJ, Brandon, Blake and Jaxson. One great niece Alice. Mustn’t forget uncle Charlie (Charlene), cousins Jamie and Bill and life-long friend Tom Whitney with whom he shared many shenanigans.

His remembrance service will be January 2 at noon and will be held at the Masonic Chapel at Mountain View Cemetery.
