Georgjean Sue Long

Georgjean Sue Long (Glasscock), 68, of Fernley, NV passed away peacefully at 11:54 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Renown Regional Medical Center, in Reno, NV.


Sue was born December 2, 1953 in Shelbyville, Illinois, the daughter of George and Geraldine Glasscock (McCracken). She married Jerald Thompson on December 5, 1971 and started a family shortly thereafter. Sue lived the early part of her life in Gays, IL and Windsor, IL around family and friends. She worked for R.R. Donnelley and Sons printing in Mattoon, IL for a number of years and would later move
to Reno, Nevada in 1987 to start a new adventure, helping establish a new manufacturing plant for the company out West. She remarried on June 3, 1990 to Jeffrey Long. Sue had a lengthy and very successful career in the printing industry, remaining in Nevada until her passing.


Sue loved her family and her children dearly, as was demonstrated by her incredible decision to donate a kidney to her daughter, Angie, earlier in her life. Sue also loved her puppies, having many throughout her life, including a number she rescued from shelters. Sue was known by all to have a kind heart, but also a strong will and an incredible work ethic. She was full of life and made many life-long friends
throughout her journey. She will be deeply missed by all.


Sue is survived by son Jeremy Thompson (Keri); brother Geo Glasscock (Debbie); grandchildren Gavin Thompson, Allie Thompson, and Carly Thompson; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces & nephews.


Sue was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Angie Cornwell; and sister Diana Schwartz (Jim).

A celebration of life for Sue is being planned for Spring of 2023 in Illinois.
