Dawn Lillian Marshall died peacefully on July 20, 2026 at her home of 22 years in Sparks, Nevada. She was born February 2, 1932 to Sydney and Lillian Duhame in Bastrop, Louisiana. The family lived in numerous locations, eventually making Los Angeles home where she graduated from Garfield High in 1950.
In October of 1950 she married the love of her life, William Marshall. Together they built a life centered on family and friends . They welcomed a son David in 1951, followed by Mark in 1955, Pamela in 1959 and Gina in 1965. In 1965 they relocated to Redwood City in Northern California. They enjoyed traveling the world, swing dancing, church activities, attending sporting events, playing bridge and going to jazz festivals and Broadway shows. Many weekends were also spent camping and water skiing with their children and friends.
After Bill passed in 2000, Dawn relocated to Sparks, Nevada to be near her daughters and grandchildren. During this time she made many close friends and was very active in the community. She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family and her ability to make friends with anyone, anywhere.
Dawn is survived by her daughters Pamela and Gina, 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and sons, David and Mark.
A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church, located at 627 Sunnyside Drive in Reno on August 8th at 1:00.
