Allen Evan Dean passed away on January 24, 2026, at the age of 74 in Reno, Nevada of natural causes.
He is survived by his three children, Jodi Alhasan and her fiancé Jeremy Jones (Nevada), Kevin Dean and his wife Tonya (Idaho) and Kyle Dean (Idaho); five grandchildren, Zayden Alhasan (Nevada), Cody Dean and his wife Mara (Idaho), Talea Dean (Idaho), Hasan Alhasan (Washington) and Badriah Alhasan (Washington), and 8 great grandchildren (Haizlee, Kamara, Zakai, Swayzie, Millie, Elijah, Ameena, Cameron and Noel). He is further survived by his siblings Sharon Jenkins and her husband Dennis (Idaho), Rowland Dean and his wife Lynne (Alabama) and Harry Dean (California).
He is proceeded in death by his parents Elwood and Magaret Dean, his brother Darrel Dean and his sister Mary Connin.
Allen joined the Navy after High School and was a submariner where he spent time as a nuclear engineer on various U.S. Submarines.
After he left the Navy, Allen held many different job positions, ultimately becoming an HVAC technician prior to retirement.
Allen was a quiet, patient, understanding and intelligent man who loved being with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, camping and fishing. He had a love for music, square dancing, spoiling his grandkids and playing video games with them. He loved his family unconditionally and would do anything possible to help any of them succeed.
A private viewing was held for immediate Family and will be followed by a Celebration of Life for Friends and Family in July 2026, the details of which will be shared at a later date.
Allen's warmth and humor will be deeply missed, but his stories will live in our hearts forever. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Reno Veterans Community Living Center at the Reno VA Hospital. The care, warmth and comfort they provided to Allen was sincerely felt and deeply appreciated by his Family.
